Titanfall Video Card Recommendation List: Review of the Best Value for Your Budget (Under $100, $150, $200, $250, $300)

As a general rule if you plan to use this card for gaming, choose an Nvidia brand card at this time. You’ll find more options in stock and get better bang for your buck.

When deciding on a manufacturer of video card (EVGA, MSI, Sapphire, Gigabyte, etc) some personal preference comes into play. The main things to consider are the warranty, price, accessories, output ports (how many HDMI, DVI etc), cooling efficiency, and customer service of each brand. Best TitanFall Graphics Card Under $100 (Entry Level):

At this pricerange you’ll struggle to get acceptable framerate while keeping the game looking nice. You’ll have to settle for one or two of these compromises: low frames per second, low resolution, or low detail settings. This is not recommended if you plan to spend a lot of time with the game as it can affect your enjoyment. With that said, the game can certainly be completely playable with cards at this price, especially if you run at lower resolutions. Bottom line recommendation however: spend another $50 if you can.

2GB GDDR3 vs 1GB GDDR5 Comparison: in this price range you will need to choose between having 2GB of GDDR3 video ram or 1GB of GDDR5 video ram. There is certainly room for debate on which is better, but the bottom line is this: if a game is trying to use more vram than you have available, you’ll have huge performance drops. However if the game is not using more vram than you have, 1GB of GDDR5 will give a slight performance boost. At lower settings 1GB of VRAM works fine for Titanfall and the GDDR5 can give a little FPS boost.

MSI AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB GDDR5
Model: R7770-PMD1GD5

Reason: This MSI HD 7770 has often been available $10-15 rebates and if one is available you will be able to see it shown on Amazon’s website by clicking the product link to the right. The HD 7770 is equal to the R7 250x, which is somewhat limited in availability right now and is also a bit more expensive. Comparing to Nvidia cards, the HD7770 is in the same price range as the GTX 650, but beats it in performance with room to spare. With a total price near $100 this AMD card will net you the maximum performance possible with this budget. Best TitanFall Video Card Under $150 (Value Performance)

If your budget is tight, this should be the target amount to spend on a graphics card for Titanfall in order to get an enjoyable experience that won’t affect your competitive edge. Here you’ll start to find a point where you can have good detail levels while keeping a smooth framerate, but don’t expect to max out the details at any of the higher monitor resolutions.

Sapphire Radeon R7 260x

Reason: This card will give you enough power to play Titanfall without really struggling like the sub-$100 option would do. If it’s at all possible with your budget this should be the minimum you shoot for to really get the most out of your Titanfall experience. You can expect the game to look great and run smooth enough to not cause you any issues with aiming or response, but you will have to keep some graphics settings turned off or turned down a bit. The Sapphire brand is well known for its great quality control and is one of the oldest mainstream video card brands. I’ve recently used their warranty replacement service (on a card that had minor problems after running at 100% load nearly 24/7 for months) and they had respectable turnaround time and good customer service.

Alternate Sub $150 Option:

EVGA Geforce GTX 750Ti
Model: 02G-P4-3751-KR
Reason: New on the market, the Nvidia Geforce GTX 750Ti line of video cards is an impressive option, especially for computers with size or power limitations. At the release of Titanfall they may have limited availability / low stock for a while, so this is listed here as an alternate option to the AMD Sapphire Radeon R7 260X mentioned above. The GTX 750’s use Nvidia’s new Maxwell chips. This allows the video cards to be smaller and consume only about 40% of the power of comparable cards. The in-game performance is within about 5% of the Radeon R7 260X.

Best Choice Under $200 (High Performance-Value)
(The Sweet Spot!)

This price range is what I would recommend to most gamers who want an immersive, problem-free experience without breaking the bank. If you spend more you can still gain some reasonable performance boosts, but you start get diminishing returns for your money above this level. Anybody with one of these cards will have no problems playing the game at any normal monitor’s native resolution with the majority of the detail levels set to high or ultra and graphics options turned on.

Gigabyte GTX 660 OC – Editor’s Choice!
Model: GV-N660OC-2GD
Reason: The Nvidia GTX 660 line is definitely the most powerful card you can find with a budget of $200 or less. The Gigabyte branded GTX 660 OC is also the cheapest of all the manufacturer brands, yet it doesn’t sacrifice anything to achieve this. The other brands like the EVGA or Asus model of the GTX 660 run $10, $20, or even $30 more with nothing to show for it. This card features a two-fan Windforce cooling design to keep the card running cool and quiet even while under heavy load during gaming. It also has a generous 3 year warranty and is SLI compatible for future upgrades. Highly recommended for a silky smooth, high detail Titanfall experience. Spending another $60-70 (or roughly 30% more) on the next level up (a GTX 760) will only net you about a 10-15% framerate increase making this the sweet spot for the best value!

Best Choice Under or Around $250 (High Performance)

Here is where we start to lose a tiny bit of bang for our buck. However if there’s a bit more room in your budget or you are looking for a little boost in performance it can certainly still be worth it to spend a bit more. Many hardcore gamers and enthusiasts will opt to invest this much in their video card. The $250 price range category is easily dominated by Nvidia’s offerings at this time.

• Graphics Quality: High to Ultra, AA and all graphics features enabled

EVGA Geforce GTX760 SuperClocked

Reason: The EVGA Geforce GTX 760 hits right at our desired price point of for this category. The non-SuperClocked version is only about $10 less so we recommend going for the SuperClocked version for some extra performance at almost no extra cost. The EVGA version of this card is by far the most popular and well reviewed of the GTX 760’s available.  EVGA is well known for good customer service and this card offers a 3 year warranty. This card will run Titanfall nearly maxed out with no issues and a nice smooth frame rate.

Best Titanfall Video Card, $300-$350 Price Range
(Extreme Performance):

If you have a very spacious budget for your new PC or system upgrade or perhaps you want to future-proof your video card to avoid the need to upgrade for a long time, the $300-$400 price range will offer extreme performance now and for the coming years. You’ll have no problem maxing out the graphics settings and resolution in any game released in the next 1 or 2 years at least.

Reason: The best options near or below $350 are either EVGA or Gigabtye’s Geforce GTX 770. The Gigabyte option offers a better cooling system, great overclocking ability, and comes in a few bucks cheaper than the EVGA option. Expect to have a future-proof card that can max out the settings in Titanfall and any other game you throw at it.

Best Titanfall Graphics Card with a $400 Budget
(Performance Level: Still Extreme)

EVGA GeForce GTX 770 Superclocked 4GB

Reason: Here you are paying the extra $50 or more for the extra 2GB of video RAM. Even hardcore gamers may fail to see the value in this upgrade and in many situations you would be better off investing that money in a different system part upgrade. For example, get an SSD (or an extra SSD) to run your games off of for faster loading times. Otherwise you’re only looking at about a 1 FPS difference unless the game uses more than 2GB of video RAM, which is very rare. There are some reports that Titanfall at Insane quality may use about 3GB of video ram, but most of those reports also state that there is little or no noticeable visual difference. In general, only consider this 4GB version if you plan on running at ridiculously high resolutions like a 3-screen gaming monitor setup or if the price happens to be similar due to a sale. There will usually be no performance difference even at super high 2560 x 1600 monitor resolutions.

Titanfall is a fast paced game that requires fast twitch based skills, steady aim, and a clear and detailed view of the entire map. Whether you’re on the ground or (hopefully) running along a wall from a high vantage point, this all adds up to mean that your video card’s performance can’t be lacking. Our recommendation is to look to spend around $200 in order to get great performance at the best possible value. If you have a little extra money to spend, look to the $250 price point. Beyond that you will be getting less for your money though you will still get noticeable performance boosts up to about the $350 price range, so consider your budget and make the right choice for you.
